| About ifCON Denver 2012
The World comes to Denver as ifCon Denver 2012 hosts the International Friendship Convention August 30, 2012 to September 3, 2012 International Friendship Weekend (ifCon) is an annual, international gathering of Asians and their friends for a weekend of friendship, fun and more. It is a chance to meet East-West member groups from across the U.S.A and around the world and promote cultural diversity. Attendees are single, couples, people just coming out, people who have been out for years - all coming together to make friendships for a lifetime. Here at ifCON Denver 2012, this is a place to come as you are and feel free to be out in a safe environment around other gay people who are just like you. In the year 2012, ifCon will meet over the Labor Day Weekend "Where East Meets the Wild West". Denver, Colorado, the 16th most populous U.S. metropolitan area. Colorado has an Asian population of over 100,000, mostly living in the Denver area. You are personally invited to join us for an adventure of a lifetime, including dining, dancing, partying, hours and hours of making new friends in the Mile-High City and across the Rocky Mountain region. Here at an elevation of 5,280 feet - gentle hearts, warm smiles, and arms open as wide as the great outdoors are waiting for you from the Mile-High City and across the Centennial State at ifCon Denver 2012. History of International Friendship Alliance http://www.intlfriendship.org/ What started out in 1988 as a small informal gathering of Asians & Friends members from Washington and New York to celebrate the DC group's fourth anniversary (followed by a reciprocal visit to NYC in 1989), has blossomed into an exciting international social and educational gathering every Labor Day weekend (1st weekend in September). The International Friendship Weekend (IFW) offers fun and information, but also support and camaraderie for Asians and those interested in Asian culture. This annual event draws hundreds of people from all over the globe and has been held at a variety of locations in the United States, Canada, England and on the high sees.
